Welcome to the Orientation Planner!

This site is currently being updated. Please check back in January for Semester 1 2023 orientation updates.

Welcome Weeks (O-Week and Connect Week)

Welcome Weeks is a series of social and academic activities designed to introduce you to life and study at UQ. Orientation Week (O-Week) focuses on your faculty orientation and overall induction to UQ, and Connect Week is a supporting week that hosts a number of social events, networking opportunities and academic and learning workshops to help you get ahead and get connected.

Orientation Semester 1 Key dates

  • O-Week 13–17 February 2023
  • Connect Week 20–24 February 2023

Orientation Week

O-Week is the official induction to The University of Queensland for new students and is held during the week before semester starts. It is expected you attend all faculty, school and compulsory orientation sessions applicable to you.

Connect Week

Connect Week is a supporting week that offers new students social, sporting, study and support sessions and events to help familiarise themselves with campus, meet new people, network, get prepared for study and most importantly have fun!

New students

Please check back mid January when orientation sessions and events will be added. Once you accept your offer, please check your student email address regularly for important information from your school or faculty. In the meantime, please make sure you have read the starting at UQ website thoroughly so you are ready for the start of Semester.
