Bachelor of Information Technology First Year Students: Welcome & Project Day

BInfTech Project Day is Compulsory for ALL students commencing First Year Bachelor of Information Technology.  Morning tea and lunch is provided.  

12:30pm - 1:30pm: Welcome and Program Information (50-T105) An essential information seminar for First Year students in the BInfTech and BInfTech dual Programs.  You will meet program leaders, learn about the structure of your degree and how to select courses, and gain advice about transitioning to university study.

1:30pm - 2:10pm: BBQ Lunch and Networking, Hawken Engineering (BLDG 50), Level 2 A BBQ lunch and an opportunity to meet other students, talk with clubs and societies and professional associations related to Information Technology, and meet with faculty support teams such as EAIT Employability.

2:10pm - 4:30pm: Orientation Project Activities (49-301) A series of activities designed to help you meet staff and other students in the degree, become familiar with details of your degree and UQ, and to work together to solve problems from an Information Technology perspective.

4:30pm - 5:30pm: Academic Advice (Optional 49-301) Do you still have questions?  Academic advisors for your program will provide personal advice on courses you can enrol in for Semester 1, 2020. 

Other Orientation Events:

Attending 'Safety in Australia' is compulsory for all new international students studying at St Lucia and Herston campuses.

OSHC and Medical Help for International Students.   This session is to help international students understand: How to access medical help and doctors in Australia, what to do when you get sick, and how to use Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).

Let's get you started - Drop in to this session to get help with creating a workable Timetable, how to Sign-On, Employability Information, and advice from School representatives. This session is NOT compulsory but worthwhile for all students

EAIT International Welcome To Australia. This session is for all international undergraduate and postgraduate students commencing Semester 1, 2020.
